Kimberly Barron known as “Kimbo”, is a fine artist who focuses on painting, tattoos, digital art, sculpture, and pottery. After picking up crayons as a child, Barron has always had a passion for the arts. In high school she specialized in acrylic painting and created a series that depicted various Disney movies realistically. She had won awards, scholarships, and recognition for her work which led to her decision to move forward in the arts. In college she began her exploration in ceramics and quickly became excited about the new medium. She then combined her skills in painting and ceramics to create her work today.

Kimbo graduated with her BFA with a focus in ceramics at Georgia Southern University’s Armstrong campus in Savannah, GA 2020. She was also the studio assistant for established ceramic artist, John Jensen, and for Armstrong’s ceramics studio. Barron spent most of her days teaching others, firing student’s work, mixing glazes, and attending to the various necessary responsibilities to run a successful ceramics studio. She has won a number of awards and scholarships for her ceramic sculptures at Armstrong and has exhibited her work locally, regionally, and nationally.

She has recently started using the human body as a different form of canvas for her work. From working on inanimate canvases she explored different techniques with animate canvases that will last a lifetime. She began tattooing in 2021 and is now located at Tramp Art Studios in Savannah, GA.
