“Lucky Number 3”

17.5 x 19 x 9 inches

Ceramics, acrylic paint, mixed media

2019

The idea of this piece came to me when I was daydreaming in one of my required college courses that didn’t interest me. I have always been fascinated with the hairless cat and how society views them to be “ugly”. I wanted to convey the message of how the beauty of motherhood can be terrifying yet powerful as the mother protects its young from others. Beauty can overcome ugliness and vice versa.
